Updated MMBN4 maps
Battle Network Series, by Dr. Cossack on 28 September 2006 at 11:00

The Mega Man Battle Network 4 maps are now finally complete thanks to Mega Boy's efforts. All areas are done, in the new style of course. This means that all of the six main games are covered, along with Rockman EXE 4.5.

Fan files
Site news, by Dr. Cossack on 25 September 2006 at 22:04

The ever-going Fan Art section now holds two new pictures from two new artists. Tiga1000 went for a feminine twist of Mega Man with a picture featuring "Mega Man Woman". The second artist, DarkShadow, chose the ever-popular duo of X and Zero. The two new pictures are here.

This update also marks the opening on a new page within the music section: fan remixes! Brian Bibbo approached me with four solid remixes based on the Original series. You can download his take on the Air Man, Crash Man, Flash Man and Spark Man themes in the newly-opened page. I also now accept music submissions. As such, if you sequenced or remixed a theme from any Mega Man theme, send it my way! I'll take MIDIs, MP3s and modules (IT, S3M, etc.)

Main page updates, how to help
Site news, by Dr. Cossack on 14 September 2006 at 16:59

I have updated the main page layout to improve it in some ways. First of all, you probably noticed the new "Latest news" header. I think it adds a little something that was missing on this page. I also copied the RSS icon to the top of the news to give it some added visibility. On a side note, the RSS feed has been updated a bit to fix the reported update times (they were off by a few hours), and to carry some more information.

The right sidebar now features a "Random quote of the Day", which displays a new quote from a random Mega Man game every day. The list of quotes was compiled thanks to some help from Breakman.

Finally, another new item on the right sidebar is called "Help this website!". Several people write to me offering to help with the website in some way, but they usually don't know what they can do. This new list features several interactive sections of the site where user input is especially welcome. When I'll have more options for interested users, they will be added to that section.

Here is a description of the various options now available:

  • Send FanArt: the gallery always welcomes more submissions from anyone who draws Mega Man FanArt. You can read the details on how to submit pictures there. Fan characters are also allowed as long as they fit in the Mega Man universe somehow.
  • Submit links: the link database is built to run on user contributions. Everyone can add a link to a website they know about, even if they are not the owner. You can jump right in and add all of the sites you know about, but of course, checked if they aren't already listed first!
  • Link to this site: a nice way to help if you are the owner of a website is to link to this place. The "Link to me" page offers several link banners and buttons in various sizes. Once you link to this place, remember to submit your own link!
  • Send feedback and comments: I always welcome feedback from new and old visitors alike! You can open that page to send me a message without opening your e-mail client.
  • Sign the Mega Man Manga Petition: the ever-running petition aims to convince publishers to release more of the Japanese Mega Man manga to North America, in English obviously.

Updated MMBN5 maps
Battle Network Series, by Dr. Cossack on 8 September 2006 at 0:09

Now that I'm done playing through the main story of Mega Man Battle Network 5, I've put the maps for that game in a proper order. Just like with the previous games, you'll find them in different categories along with the correct names for the various areas.

Updated MMBN1 maps
Battle Network Series, by Dr. Cossack on 1 September 2006 at 22:54

Mega Boy still has some love for the Mega Man Battle Network games, as he updated his Mega Man Battle Network 1 maps to match with the style he used in his last few updates. The new set of maps is easier to understand since it uses the same display style as the game itself. If you're struggling to get through that annoying PowerPlant stage, those maps will definitely help you!
