My guess is that they are saving the best for the last (although the Sonic update probably has warmed up some of his fans to buy the game already). I mean, if you would come with the best updates in the last few days before the release, you would have better sales than if you would come with the worst few updates.

Nicely put, and I understand that logic completely. That doesn't mean I can't whine about it.

In today's update? More stuff we already knew! Namely the Smart Bomb from Star Fox, which sometimes fails to explode. (Like Electrode, as Sakurai sneakily added at the last second!)

But today's a double update which makes it suck a -little- less. The bad news? The second update was about Training Mode. yaawn.

There was ONE new bit of information, though. Namely an item we haven't seen before.


A soccer ball! I wonder what this could do. Maybe you run into it to kick it instead of throwing? We'll have to wait and see.

Any guesses on what that item that Mario is tossing is?

My guess he is throwing a discoball. And the football makes me think of Mario Smash Football.

The new Dark Fox skin looks SO nice!
They will probably put in sonic's super sonic skin.

According to those who played the demo at E for All, Sonic's recolors are merely different shades of blue with varying colors of gloves. No news of a Shadow recolor, but It'd be stupid not to. Maybe they were just...hiding it? XD

(Refuses to entertain any notion of Shadow being playable)

Edit: As a side-note, I think that Sakurai pointing out Pikachu's Pichu accessory (the goggles used to be a Pichu costume) may be foreshadowing to the statement that Pichu has been cut. You heard it here, folks. ;o

That's a good thing. I hated the fact that with Pichu, every special attack you used also hurt you in the process. Not by much, but it builds up and that's annoying.
